Don’t Watch This Unless You Text While Driving — Or Drive With Someone Who Does!

Here’s a video message that should be part of driver’s training classes across the country.  The old drinking and driving horror films we saw in Driver’s Ed don’t hold a candle to this one and it communicates so much more effectively than some lame lecture.  As schools start this fall and another whole group of digitally active students learn how to drive, please pass on this extremely effective media message.

Pictures of Education

What does good teaching and learning look like?  In my job I get to spend a good deal of time in buildings and classrooms ranging from preschool through 12th grade and it is always interesting to see what is going on.   When real learning and teaching are going on it is easy to spot because both students and teacher are engaged in the learning process.  The pictures below are not from a building classroom but they capture the essence and spirit of students and teachers who have the love for learning and sense of wonder and awe they bring with them.  It really doesn’t matter what subject or level you teach, these pictures say it all.

How To Really “Celebrate A Marriage”

When I saw this video I had to add it to my collection of great videos.  If I had to get married again, this is the way I would come down the aisle!  This really captures so much more what “celebrating a marriage” means.  What a great demonstration of the joy that marriage brings.  After 31 years of marriage this is still the way I feel!  I want to meet these people and hang out with them and let them know that they are starting out on the right foot–and that it only gets better with that kind of attitude!
